The Vegetable Side Dishes of Shrimp Week

Thanks for letting me get that rant off my chest yesterday.  I felt a bit better, and I made a bruschetta fro lunch and felt quite a bit better.

I am going to end the "side dishes of shrimp week - week" posts with a twofer...

Two VERY simple and quick sauté recipes you can whip up in minutes...

Like the Honey Glazed carrots and Snow Peas shown above...

A few cut up Carrots
An equal amount in volume of Snow Peas
2 TBS Butter
2 TBS Honey

In a sauté pan, heat the butter and honey over medium heat.  Add the carrots first and cook for about 5 minutes, till the carrots are cooked, but still firm.  Add the snow peas and sauté for only a couple minutes and you are done!

And this one is my wife's favorite...

First, I would love to give credit for this idea.  I saw this on a blog a couple weeks ago, but I didn't record the blog name or address.  If someone recalls seeing this, or better yet, recalls writing the original post, please let me know.  I would love to credit the original author.

But, in fact the recipe is so easy and quick, it can become one of your favorites too...

A hand full of Snow Peas
An equal amount of Mushrooms sliced
1 TBS Olive Oil to sauté the Snow Peas
1 TBS Hoisin Sauce to sauté the Mushrooms

I did each separately.  only a couple minutes in the heat.  Vegetables are best served al dente, just a little crisp.

Hey, I can cook fancy with the best of you (well, not the best, but many of you).  I have been known to happily spend hours in the kitchen to make something complicated.

But some days you want to get in and out of the kitchen quick.  These two recipes will help.

Besides, I had things to do...

  6. Popping over to see what you've been up to and to say hi! I'll skip commenting on the rant since The Cajun is a military man... :)

Sure is a purtay view though.
